American Churches today must deal with a wide range of safety threats from first aid (the most common), to security (the most feared), but safety involves much more. Children’s safety involves security, sanitation, toys, first aid training for supervision, qualified teachers, background checks, electrical safety, and much more. The rest of the church requires safety to be addressed in all areas from sanitation, to food, to playgrounds, to stairs to furniture, to mold, to the roofs and floors, to the parking lots and traffic. Some requirements are legally binding on the church and others are good ideas to attrack modern congregations.
Safety is first and last, about LOVE. Love is the driver for Christians seeking to service our Lord and be a light to the world.
John 15: 12-13
“This is My commandment, that you love one another just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
